The Jim Schug Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Clark Reservation State Park is a geologic wonder of the last ice age and a botanist's paradise in Jamesville, NY. Owners and their leashed pets can explore the park's natural features, including rugged cliffs, rocky outcrops, woodland and meadows, wetland, and a glacial plunge basin lake in which the surface waters and bottom waters do not mix. Hikers may choose from five trails, including the cliff trail, which has a ledge overlooking 175 feet above the water.

Chittenango Falls State Park is a pet-friendly recreation space in Cazenovia, NY. You and Fido can walk the winding trails through gorges to view the beautiful 167-foot tall waterfall that the park is named for. Fishing and picnicking are also popular. You can bring a maximum of two pets and they must remain on a six-foot or shorter leash throughout your entire visit. Proof of a current rabies vaccination must be present. Pets aren't permitted in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, pools and spray-grounds or guarded beaches. Please clean up after Fido.
