Family & Pet-Friendly New Build
The Lamplighter Lodge is a modern mountain dream home. The new construction features hardy finishes, high end appliances, VERY family friendly amenities, and is located on a heavily wooded lot at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Located only 5 miles North of Fairplay and less than 20 miles from Breckenridge, this home is a perfect home base for any Colorado Rocky Mountain Adventures!
Upon entering the home, you are greeted by the floor to ceiling windows and sliding glass doors of the Great Room. The open concept Great Room and Kitchen make spending quality time as a family easy! Comfortable seating around the large stone hearth of the wood burning fireplace and the 48 inch Smart TV, provide a cozy central living space for all to share. Settle in for meal time or a good game around the hightop dining table or perch at the kitchen island bar for a cup of coffee on the go and a quick snack. The large, built-in pantry and spacious refrigerator/freezer provide the storage space needed for all of your favorite foods and the well appointed modern kitchen with shiny new stainless steel appliances ensures that you have everything you need to whip up a delicious meal for your loved ones.
The ground floor of the home features a spacious Laundry/Mud Room, great for storing all of your adventure gear. The stacked washer and dryer is made available for guest use - so no need to waste precious vacation time on making trips to the laundromat in town!
As you make your way down the ground floor hallway, you'll find a full size bathroom with a walk-in shower, a large vanity and oversized anti-fog, backlit mirror that features a variety of lighting options to assist in make-up application. The toilet is fitted with a slow-close lid that offers a smaller built-in potty training seat - making toddler time a breeze!
At the end of the ground floor hallway you will find two cozy Bedrooms:
The left room is "The Kids Bedroom" and features a large window, a new Twin over Full size bunk bed - both fitted with luxurious cotton bed linens, a standard dresser and a small walk-in closet filled with kids books, toddler toys, a pack-n-play and other children's supplies.
The Right room is "The Blue Bedroom" and features a large window, a new Queen size bed fitted with luxurious cotton bed linens, a dresser top changing table and roomy closet.
Make your way up the steps to the second floor of the home where you are greeted by an open Loft Office space. Pluck a book from the great selection on the shelf and settle in for a great read, or use the nearby desk to get that pesky work out of the way so you can get outside and play.
As you make your way down the second floor hallway, you'll find a full size bathroom that offers a bathtub/shower combo so you can choose to start the day with a quick and refreshing rinse or sink in for a long, hot soak after all the activities a day in the Colorado Rocky Mountains may afford. The large vanity and oversized anti-fog, backlit mirror features a variety of lighting options to assist in make-up application and the toilet is fitted with a slow-close lid that offers a smaller built-in potty training seat - making toddler time in either bathroom a breeze!
At the end of the second floor hallway you will find two more cozy Bedrooms:
The left bedroom is "The South West Room" that features walkout access to the shared balcony, a new Queen size bed and Twin size daybed - both fitted with luxurious cotton bed linens, a standard dresser and a small walk-in closet.
The right room is "The Red & Gold Bedroom" that features walkout access to the shared balcony, a new King size bed fitted with luxurious cotton bed linens and a roomy closet.
The wraparound porch of the home is partially covered and offers an outdoor dining set, child size patio chairs as well as a natural gas BBQ grill available for guest use.
The driveway is plowed in the winter and the roadways are maintained by the county, but 4-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED from November through May due to the frequent snow storms in this area.
Park County is an activity center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, it's a great "Base Camp!" If you can think of an outdoor activity, you will probably find it within 10-20 minutes of the cabin. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain climbing, snow-shoeing, horseback riding (winter too!), ice climbing, fishing, hunting, rafting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, mine exploration, canoeing, kayaking, and much much more.

* Within Minutes of the home... Access to National Forest/Montgomery Reservoir, Lincoln Falls, Ice Climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and some of the best snow-shoeing and 4-wheeling in Colorado

* Buena Vista ... Hot Springs, fishing, raft the Arkansas River - 43 miles. SW
* Salida ... fishing, hiking, jeep trails , rafting - 63 miles SW
* Como Historic Railroad District - 20 min. E
* Fairplay Historic Mining Town - 5 min.
* Denver ... shopping, theaters, sports, amusements parks -90 miles E
* Cripple Creek ... gold mining, gambling - 70 miles.
* Canon City ... home of the Royal Gorge - 80 miles SE
* Manitou Springs ... Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak - 80 miles. SE
Many of the famous attractions are just a short day trip away from the home including Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Maroon Bells (not accessible in Winter), Aspen, Vail and many more.

* This home is located in the Central Rockies at approx. 10,243 ft. elevation. Please be advised that elevation and weather should be considered when deciding if this location is appropriate.
* Guests are required to have a four-wheel drive vehicle with adequate snow tires or chains during the winter months from November through May. The area is subject to frequent unpredictable and adverse weather conditions which can make travel difficult.
* This home is located in a rural high alpine mountain environment where wildlife, insects and rodents may be encountered. The home is also equipped with a well water system and may have variability in taste, smell or mineral content based on time of year and usage.
* Guests will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement after booking.
* Outdoor security camera(s) are in use at this property, and may be used to verify guest occupancy. Security camera(s) are solely for visual (no audio) monitoring outside the property and are not present inside the property.
* This home is pet friendly. We charge a $50 fee for each pet, and all pets must be approved. This fee is not included in the quoted rate, and will be charged after the booking is confirmed or the day of arrival on the reservation.
