When you stay at the Sawtooth unit, in the historic Litch Hotel, you will enjoy both history and modern craftsmanship. The Litch Building was first built in 1880 as a 1-story saloon. in 1901 a dog knocked over a kerosine lamp and much of the building burnt down. In 1909 Sam Litch rebuilt it with an expanded footprint and a 2nd story. Over the past 140 years it has been home to countless businesses including a hotel. Todd and Andy ,The McKee Brothers, purchased the Litch building in 2018 in considerable disrepair. Wanting to preserve this important part of Wallowa County history, they poured their blood, sweat and love into first reinforcing and then renovating the building back to much of its original grandeur. This project is on going and will eventually include 13 short term condos each with a unique Wallowa County theme.
Below is the contents of our rental agreement we ask all parties to sign after finalizing a reservation
Noise: This building is over 110 years old, and sound transfers more than modern buildings. If guests are in adjacent units, you may hear them, and they may hear you. Please note that there is currently active construction occurring in the Litch Hotel building Monday - Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. You may hear the construction during this time. Most of our guests are out exploring the area during the day and the construction noise hasn't been a major issue but if you are planning on being in the unit most of the day the noise can be loud depending on the day.
Pets: While we are proud to be a pet friendly business, many of our guests stay with us without pets and have great experiences. For individuals that have dog/cat allergies, we don't guarantee a dander free space.

Todd & Andy McKee, The McKee Brothers, own and operate the Litch Hotel which is part of Eagle Cap Vacation Rentals. They both live in Wallowa County, near Enterprise and are available to be onsite quickly if a need arises.
Sawtooth is located in the historic Litch Hotel on the corner of Main Street and River Street in Downtown Enterprise. Enterprise is generally quieter and slower paced than its more famous neighbor Joseph. Many guests that stay in the Litch Hotel have noted their appreciation for this feature of the location. On the other hand Joseph is a short 10 minute drive away making it a convenient access point to the many outdoor adventures that our guests plan to enjoy during their stays.
This is a pet-friendly home. We do have policies that we ask guests to adhere to in order to ensure we can continue to offer this amazing benefit to future guests. Please inform us at the time of booking if you will be bringing a pet. We reserve the right to ask you to leave the property should you fail to do this. There is a $30 nightly fee per dog (ESA animals included) that will be collected prior to check-in. This is refundable should your pet no longer be accompanying you after the fee is paid.
Please note that pets are not allowed on the furniture, nor are they allowed to be left unattended in the unit unsupervised.
Please note that this historic building is over 110 years old, and as such, sound transfers between units noticeably. The host asks all guests to be understanding of this and to keep noise levels to a reasonable level during their stay. Despite this, guests have still had wonderful experiences and have raved about the unique charm of the space.
Please note that there is currently active construction occurring in the Litch Hotel building Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm until Memorial Day 2023. You may hear the construction in this unit.
