Shell Beach is located on the ocean side of Highway 101 within walking distance to the beach and two grassy parks overlooking the gorgeous Central Coast. 'Jagged cliffs add drama at Shell Beach in Pismo, CA' writes Sunset Magazine.

Why I love it: it's 77 steps down the cliffs to this small and uncrowded beach in Pismo. Bring down a great picnic.'
Pismo Beach is a popular spot for visitors where you can lay in the sand, go on a walk along the Pismo Beach Pier, and snap a picture of the giant ‘Pismo Beach’ sign at the pier plaza. There are plenty of facilities at Pismo's public beach including fishing rentals, a kid’s playground, and volleyball courts so everyone can have a great time! When hunger strikes, local popular restaurants are situated just feet from the pier or along Price and Shell Beach Road.
Pismo's expansive beach stretches on for miles, with its soft golden sand that sits against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. You’ll find it along the Central Coast. Known for its relaxed vibe and scenic beauty, Pismo State Beach provides the perfect setting for a day of beachcombing. The beach is particularly famous for its sand dollars, which lie hidden amongst the sand, waiting to be discovered by keen-eyed visitors. But Pismo State Beach offers more than just beachcombing. The beach also provides habitats for a variety of wildlife, including sea otters and shorebirds.
Nearby Oceano Dunes is a unique beach that’s unlike anywhere else in California. This is one of the best beaches in Central California where you can enjoy a variety of recreational activities including swimming, camping, fishing, and driving your car onto the shoreline. Pismo Beach is the only place in California that allows you to drive your personal car onto the beach. Many families come here to spend the day playing on the beach and stay to watch the sunset around a sand firepit.
Shell Beach is a hidden little gem tucked away on the Central Coast between Avila and Pismo Beach. This secluded part of the coastline offers picture-perfect scenery along with beautiful grassy parks, shops, and restaurants.
