Reviews
- AdelaJun. 27, 2022Great location
It's pet friendly.
- KarenMay. 4, 2022Awesome hotel and staff
Great stay!
- MayriliApr. 30, 2022Meh... won't stay again
We booked this as a last minute option. We were originally staying at Aloft Hotel and that place was amazing and we decided to extend our stay in OC. Unfortunately, Aloft had a high rate for the weekend. So we booked at La Quinta for a night. It was nice the pet fee was only 20 dollars per pet. The floors in our room were dirty and covered in other dogs hair. The pillows could be replaced, they were flat and old. We had no soap in our bathroom and only one toilet paper roll. The whole place could use a good thorough cleaning. The breakfast area was messy/dirty. The pool wasn't even filled up, it was closed. Pets weren't allowed in the breakfast seating area or the pool/gym. There was this terrible strong scent in the elevators that triggered my allergies along with the other dog hair in my room. Someone had spilled kibble in the lobby and nobody cleaned it up for hours. The guy at the front desk could've been nicer and more welcoming. When I called to see if they had my reservation, he was quick to say he did without even asking for my information. There was only a tiny turf area outside where your dog could go potty on. Coming from the Aloft hotel, this was very disappointing. Wasn't as dog friendly as advertised. Pay the extra money and stay at the Aloft where they will treat your Fido with love. Including dog bowls and treats throughout the property and a proper grass patch for potty.
- AjApr. 17, 2022Great location and staff
The staff were very nice to use and our dog. They even gave her a treat. And help use with a couple things that we needed. I would definitely go back.
- ErienneApr. 10, 2022Amazing, Pet Friendly Hotel
This was our first time taking our 2 dogs on a trip, that included staying a hotel. La Quinta OCMD was an excellent choice. We booked through the app, and when we got to OCMD early, we found out our room was available 2 hours early! The room was extremely clean and our dogs really enjoyed their stay. They even loved people watching from our balcony! They have an area out front for pets to go to the bathroom, and even had a crate available to use for a small fee. 10/10 would stay here again!
- LoriMar. 14, 2022Good location
Nice room with floor to ceiling window so Cassie could watch the cars and people. Staff was nice and responsive to needs.
- JamesFeb. 20, 2022Very accommodating for pets
Our two girls had a great time. Will be bringing them back to stay again.
- KathleenJan. 1, 2022Respect for our dog
Room was clean and quiet, and it was New Years Eve! :)
- LisaOct. 25, 2021Very Pet Friendly
The room was nice, nothing luxurious, very basic. There were no extras like toiletries, etc. I needed a shower cap and they weren’t able to provide one. Due to lack of staff, rooms were not being cleaned other than between guests. I would stay there again if I had my dog with me.
- JoyceOct. 18, 2021Great Dog Hotel
This hotel and the staff were very accommodating to our dog. The La Quinta Inn & Suites is a very good hotel for dogs. Back in September of 2019 we stayed at one in Salisbury, MD.
- MargaretJun. 22, 2021Dogs not allowed on beach in Ocean City
La Quinta is reliable. We always feel comfortable staying there with our dogs. Unfortunately, Ocean City doesn't allow dogs on the beach during the summer. We ended up sitting at the top of one of the dune crossing a block from La Quinta to watch the air show. On the beach, but not on the beach. Turned out it was the perfect place to watch the air show (which we didn't know was happening when we made reservations). OC really needs to set aside a little bit of the beach for dogs. No complaints about La Quinta anywhere in the US, though.

Great place to stay.
- EileenMay. 16, 2021Expensive
Expensive but very dog friendly.
- PriscillaApr. 22, 2021Friendly, helpful staff
In addition to its excellent location and fair price, I was most pleased by the friendliness and efficient help from the staff.
- MariaNov. 1, 2020Convenient
I like to visit OC in the off season and love that LaQuinta is pet friendly. I was charged a small pet fee which I have not yet had to at other LQ locations in the past, but understand it is something they started doing under Wyndham. It is still so much more reasonable than other hotel pet fees. Despite the pandemic, it seemed there were still a fair amount of people there in the off season and we saw many with 4 legged friends. My pets can't just go on those type of potty areas but it was nice that it was there. We just walked a couple of blocks for them to find places to go and walked back along the beach. The location is very convenient to the beach and area attractions. I would definitely say here again in the future.
- LaurenOct. 10, 2020Excellent place for pets
Great place for pets to use potty field right outside of hotel entrance
- StephanieSep. 1, 2020Great for the dogs!
Hotel was clean and great for the dogs! The area out front for them to go to the bathroom was very convenient. The hotel was also in a convenient location to the beach. If I bring the dogs again, I would definitely come back here!
- CatherineJun. 28, 2020Great Location
Hotel was perfect for all of us. The pups loved the walk out patio to people watch. My only reason for not giving 5 bones was a broken toilet that took 2 days to get the maintenance man there to replace. (He was off the first day though, it worked just not like it should have)
- KyleMar. 8, 2020Great Stay
Extremely friendly and very accommodating
- DavidFeb. 9, 2020Dion was the best receptionist hands down!
If first impressions speak to the truth of the experience, then Dion at the front desk did an amazing job. The stay was perfect and the room was immaculate. And it started with the professional and courteous greeting upon arrival and check in. Well done.
- LizDec. 2, 2019Good location
Loved that there were hardwood & not carpet in the dog friendly room; however, corners could have been cleaned better of dog hair.
- WilliamNov. 24, 2019Great location and great for dog
Great location. Good breakfast. Only issues I had were that the fire alarm went off the first night at 3 am and we had to evacuate, but were allowed back in quickly. Also I am not a fan of the pillows and the room we had was right by the elevators and sound traveled in the room easily and at times. But overall it was good!
- RichardOct. 30, 2019Newish hotel
Nice facility. Clean room. Almost on the beach. Leash law in effect
- KathleenSep. 12, 2019Great pet friendly vacation
Great location. Room nice. Could see the ocean which was a plus! Staff helpful. Got to check in an hour early which is always a plus traveling with a pet. Hand sanitizer and appropriate social distancing at check in. Breakfast was basic but well appreciated. Overall good experience.
- MichelleSep. 4, 2019Great location and helpful staff
We were visiting family in Maryland and wanted to see the ocean for a day or so. This hotel was great for our needs, it was very pet friendly and clean. The hotel staff was very friendly with our dog and so were all of the other guests we me. The hotel is located near the beach (not on it) and it's close to several restaurants and other nicer hotels. I want to note you can still hear other rooms and stuff in the hallway, which might bother some dogs. But we found that turning up the television does the trick.
- JulieMay. 7, 2019Returning Customer!
We enjoyed staying here during the “off season” so our black labs could enjoy the beach and boardwalk! The hotel was very accommodating to our needs and wants!
My dog is a very messy drinker, so I wiped up the water off of the room floor and it looked like it had not been clean/wiped up in a long time...I am someone who liked things to be clean! But it was not awful, we still enjoyed ourselves! The staff was very friendly to our dogs, saying hi and giving them lots of attention!
Another thing was that if you have dogs and want your room cleaned, let them know! Don’t assume they’re just going to do so ( we made this mistake ).
Also, if you dog is not friendly, don’t bring them in an environment with lots of dogs! There were so many mean dogs (leashed) but they had snapped at my (very friendly) dog multiple times.Overall we truly enjoyed our stay here, and will be sure to come back!
- ScottApr. 25, 2019Nice La Quinta Hotel Close To Boardwalk
This hotel is updated and one of the nicer La Quintas I have stayed in. It is also very pet friendly and located one block from the beach. Off season rates are very reasonable but there is a$20 per night pet fee. There are limited green spaces in proximity to the hotel for dog walking but can be found a short walk away.
Our biggest concern wasOcean City is pet friendly only until May 1st when dogs are banned from the boardwalk and beach. This means it is only dog friendly during off season when hardly anything is open. This proved to be a bit of a challenge to find pet friendly places to eat. However, this had nothing to do with the hotel and this hotel is highly recommended if travelling with pets.
- KimberlyMay. 11, 2018Great stay
This hotel is pretty nice. I was unsure of what to expect based on the reviews and it being one of the few hotels in OC which allows dogs. The rooms all have tiled floors which is great. My room was on the first floor right by the exit which was nice. The price includes a free breakfast. My only complaint is that OC is in no way dog friendly. The dogs are not allowed on the beach after April. The town has little if any grass areas to walk your dog. Their dog park is incredibly over priced. OC is just not a good place to take your dog. For a dog friendly beach, you have to drive to Dewey or Bethany. For this reason, I do not vacation in OC but just do a 2 day visit.
- CourtneyMore than a year agoGreat Hotel!
LOVED our stay at this hotel! It is within a short walking distance of the beach and they were very accomodating of dogs! We had two with us and it wasn't an issue. Giving it four stars because of the very small dog walking area. We had to walk them to the beach because they would not go in the grass provided.
- SusanMore than a year agoNightmare
You must pay upon check in for your entire stay! They refused to accept credit card payments by a friend or my father over the phone or computer! They were misogynists at the front desk and insulted my father from MS! Stay away!
- KaitMore than a year agoPerfect for bringing your furry friend
I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked this hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean and I slept better than I normally do at hotels. Great price and breakfast was included. Loved having a balcony we could hang out on. The small patch of grass was perfect for quick potty breaks, but we did do some walks around the neighborhood if needed. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Lots of other pups around too!
