In the past, this was where ancient royalty chose to live, worship, and give birth to generations of Hawaiian leaders. It's easy to see why: the resort is situated on the ocean to the right of the Wailua River, which affords it gorgeous views of the ocean and easy access to both the beach and the river banks. The ocean location features Kaua'i's only protected swimming and snorkeling beach. Swimmers can also choose from two swimming pools and a muscle-soothing Jacuzzi.
