Olbia is the nearest airport and port, 100km, and 1 \ 1. 5 hours by car. Alghero is the second closest airport, about 180km away and it normally takes 2.30 \ 3 hours by car. Cagliari is the furthest airport / port, approx 200 km, and 2 5/3 hours by car. Car hire is in Cala Gonone in Sardinia and normally recommended, However, there is anche good public and private transport from airports / ports. In Cala Gonone you can hire a car, scooter, kayaking, biking, and more. Lots to do here anche with no car; ask us!
Distances
Dorgali is a small town only 7 km. away. Cala Gonone is in fact part of this municipality. Within few kilometers there are some interesting museums, exciting archaeological sites such Nuraghe Mannu Serra Orrios, Thomes. Also some fascinating caves-grottos and gorges (eg. Gorroppu). The famous 125, a lovely road in the wilderness with spectacular views. Nuoro is the nearest important town with some interesting museums to see, and G. Deledda's house; the Nobel Prize writer was in fact born here.
