Lovely park
Dog Depot at Heritage ParkWe stopped here to let our dogs stretch their legs during a stay in Thackerville, OK. It’s a beautiful park with lots of grass (even in December), trees, and benches. Plenty of waste stations to clean up after your dogs. They also had a dog water fountain. The best part was the covered area, because it happened to be raining when we visited. We hung out under the pavilion while the dogs played.
The park is large and located right next to a train depot - we were lucky enough to see a train go by. The dogs didn’t know what to make of it, but I thought it was a cool experience for them!
Nice park
Scentral Bark Dog ParkWe really enjoyed visiting this dog park in Lindsborg. The fenced-in areas were both very clean and we had the place to ourselves. There are plenty of tools and waste bags for cleaning up after your dogs. It also has a nice water fountain, which our dogs appreciated after being in the car for a while. There wasn’t much grass, so I imagine it would be a bit messy here after rain. We still had a great time!
Cool park
Eureka Springs Bark ParkMy two dogs really enjoyed this park after being in the car for several hours. There were obviously tons of great smells, according to them. The park was pretty scenic, situated on a hill with lots of big trees. Seemed pretty clean, although it’s autumn so leaves covered most of the ground. A well-stocked waste station was available and several nice benches for us humans to rest at. Separate areas for small and large dogs - there was one small dog barking at us from the other side but we had the large dog side to ourselves. We would definitely return!
Pleasant surprise
Love's Travel StopWe stopped at this Love’s travel stop to get gas and were pleasantly surprised to find there was a nice dog park. There are two separate fenced-in areas, one for big dogs and one for small dogs/puppies. Each one has a bench and waste station. The park and gas station were both clean and had a nice, friendly atmosphere. This dog park is a much needed rest stop along I-35.
Great spot to rest
Love’s Travel StopWe pulled over to get gas between Kansas City and Wichita and were surprised to find this Love’s had a dog park. The park was grassy, fenced in, and spacious. There were plenty of benches and trash cans, as well as waste bags to clean up after the pups. We let our pups run around for a bit here before we got back on the road, and I’m sure they appreciated this amenity provided by Love’s. We will definitely stop here again next time we’re traveling that direction.
Beautiful place for a walk
Pracht Wetlands ParkWe’ve taken our pups here a few times. You wouldn’t expect to see such beautiful scenery in the middle of Wichita. It’s always nice and quiet when we go, making for the perfect spot for some leash practice (dogs must be leashes). Highly recommend!
Great view
Niagara Falls State ParkThis park offers a great view of the falls. It was also free parking when we went, so that was nice. Lots of paved paths to walk and plenty of grass.
We had fun
Ellicott Island Bark ParkWe’re on a road trip and took our pup here to stretch his legs. He had a great time running around. Got to talk to some other dog-parents and everyone was really nice.
Great location
Destination Dog ParkWe are traveling and stopped here to let our 17 week old puppy stretch his legs. It was empty as it was kind of a wet day, but he had a blast getting his zoomies out. The park is a nice size and very clean, with lots of things to run around and play on, like ramps and hurdles. The shopping area is nice too.
New York City stay
Club Quarters Times Square - MidtownRoom was clean. We didn’t get any additional amenities for having our pup with us (I’d read about being given a dog bed, treats, and sign for the room). Hotel is in a great location with nearby parking garage ($55/day). The thing I’ve got to take a bone off for is that although there is no pet fee, I wouldn’t necessarily call the hotel pet friendly because there is no designated area to let your dog relieve themselves. A small scrap of grass in front of the hotel would’ve gone a long way for our pup who has never been to NYC and has no instinct to go potty on concrete. For that reason it turned into quite a stressful evening for us because we had to try and find somewhere he was willing to go. He was overwhelmed and so were we; if the hotel had a designated pet relief area it would have been a lot easier on us. Just food for thought if you’re thinking about finding a place to stay in NYC with your dog who isn’t used to being in a concrete jungle.
Pleasant Surprise
Hampton Inn St. Louis ChesterfieldThis hotel is fantastic. Our room is spotless, and the bed is comfy. Complimentary hot breakfast in the morning. The front desk staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and made sure we and the pup could get a first floor room for easier potty breaks. They also have complimentary water and cookies which are a lovely touch. Best of all, no pet fee!
Really Cool
West Virginia PenitentiaryWe went on the day time walking tour and it was very cool! Our guide Garrett was very well-informed and answered all our questions in addition to giving us the interesting history and stories of the prison. We were able to bring our pup along and he was allowed inside and on the grounds. There were also two stops along the tour that took us outside to the prison yards, and pup was able to take potty breaks. Definitely recommend this place for a cool, educational, and slightly creepy experience with your pup!
Beautiful Spot
Gateway Arch National ParkThis is a great place to hang out with your dog if you’re in St. Louis. The views are great and seeing the arch up close is worth it at least once. We paid $10 to park near the river and then we were able to walk up the steps to the huge grassy park underneath the arch. I would recommend a retractable leash even if you don’t normally use one, because there is a ton of space. I saw a dog or two off-leash, which is against the rules of the park.
Really nice
Blue Springs Dog ParkTraveling from Kansas and decided to let our puppy stretch his legs. Only about a 4 minute drive from the highway. Our pup is only 16 weeks so we visited the small dog area, and he had a great time running around. The large dog area was much bigger. Waste bags were provided and there was also a nice water fountain and places to sit. The area was very clean and felt secure and safe. It was deserted when we went, which was nice because it was our pup’s first time at a dog park and we didn’t want him to be too nervous.
