Adorable shop
Bark HarborThe store was super cute and the staff very friendly. They gushed over our pups and gave them treats, which the dogs loved. The bakery items were adorable. We couldn't pass up the lobster shaped cookies.
Dog friendly patio.
Foundation Brewing CompanyThis brewery is located right by Allagash. The patio is dog friendly and of decent size. The beer is delicious!
Large, dog friendly patio
Rising Tide Brewing CompanyThe patio is dog friendly. The space is large with plenty of seating. The beer is good. Would recommend.
Dog friendly patio
Sidecar Supper Club & Beer GardenThe patio is dog friendly, which is rare in the Fox Valley area. The service and food is good. The beer selection is great. Would highly recommend.
Dog friendly patio.
Jordan Pond HouseThere is a large grassy patio in front of the restaurant that is dog friendly and gives a great view of Jordan Pond and the Bubbles. Our server was super dog friendly and brought our dogs their own water bowl. He also snuck them a complimentary popover, which they loved. We also enjoyed our food and post hike beer.
Great dog friendly trip!
Acadia National ParkWe really enjoy traveling with our dogs and loved this park! We have two active 30# Aussies/mixes that regularly hike with us. We did the following hikes (listed easiest to most difficult):
(1) OCEAN PATH - Easy, gravel path with gorgeous shoreline views. 3 mile out and back.
(2) SHIP HARBOR - Easy, gravel path with rocky shoreline Midway through. 1.5 mile figure 8 loop.
(3) GREAT HEAD - Slightly more challenging hike due to some mild rock scrambling in the first 1/3 of the hike. Great views of Sand Beach and the shoreline. 1.8 mile loop.
(4) JORDAN POND LOOP + BUBBLES/EAGLE LAKE/CONNERS NUBBLE - Jordan Pond loop is easy. The addition of South Bubble, Eagle Lake, Conners Nubble and North Bubble makes it moderate. The dogs had to scramble a bit up South Bubble and needed assistance once. The terrain is rocky and varies from flat to hilly, but the views are with it. 7.5 mile figure 8 loop.
(5) ACADIA MT./SAUVER - Moderate to slightly difficult hike with rocky terrain, elevation change and scrambling. The doggos did better than us. Would recommend going counter clockwise. 4 mile loop.
Nice walk with beautiful views
Jordan PondWe did the Jordan Pond loop hike, but added in the Bubbles, Conners Nubble and Eagle Lake (7.5. miles). The hike up South Bubble required some scrambling and the doggos needed a boost at one point, but otherwise did great. If you and your doggos are active and enjoy hiking, I would highly recommend doing this. Overall a great day with gorgeous views and some tired pups post hike.
Super dog friendly patio.
Cafe This WayI'm sad to see the negative reviews, as we had a great experience here. The server was attentive to us and our dogs and brought out a water bowl with our coffee. The space is open enough to let the dogs have a little room to lie down. The food was great. We had the breakfast sandwich, an omelette and a single blueberry pancake.
Dog friendly patio.
Side Street CafeThe patio is dog friendly, which is always greatly appreciated. I would agree with another reviewer that the layout is awkward, so it does make it a little more challenging to keep your dogs out of the way of the servers and other guests. Our dogs are about 30#, so we tried to seat them under the eating area. The food was quite good. My husband and I both have the Mac. The half portion was hefty, but delicious.
Dog friendly patio.
The Thirsty PigThe lower level of the patio is dog friendly. There are several picnic benches and tables. The food and beer selection is good.
Scenic stroll
Fort Williams ParkThe park itself is dog friendly, the buildings are not. The view of the lighthouse is great and the walk along the coastline enjoyable.
Off leash
Bug Light ParkSmall, cute, dog friendly park with great views of the lighthouse and the ocean. There is a short path around a patch of greenery in the center. Dogs can be off leash as long as they are under voice control.
Small dog friendly space
Goodfire Brewing Co.There is a dog friendly area in the alley behind the brewery. The space is small with a few wooden tables. The beer selection was limited and just okay. 4 stars for being dog friendly.
Small dog friendly patio
Lone Pine BrewingThe patio is dog friendly here. They have water bowls and a few picnic tables and wooden chairs, but the space is small. There were 4 dogs there in addition to our 2, so it did get a little crowded and intermittently crazy. Luckily those without dogs didn't seem to mind!
Dog friendly patio.
Allagash Brewing CompanyThe outdoor patio is dog friendly. The space is super cute and larger than most of the other brewery patios in the area. The beer is also quite tasty. Worth a trip if you're in the area with your pups on a nice day.
Not dog friendly.
Shipyard Brewing CompanyThere is no patio and dogs are not welcome within the building.
Fun little spot.
East End Beach at Eastern Promenade ParkWe happened upon this very dog friendly beach while walking the Eastern Promenade. The doggos enjoyed running off leash on the beach and chasing balls into the water.
Enjoyable excursion!
Casco Bay LinesPositives: dog friendly, alcohol friendly, scenic
We had our dogs with us on vacation and we were looking for dog friendly activities. The Mailboat Cruise kept popping up in my searches and other reviews were generally positive, so we decided to give it a go. We packed up some beer and picked up some donuts from the Holy Donut along the way. The ticket prices were reasonable - $16 per person, $4 per dog - and the doggos received complimentary treats. The trip itself was wonderful. We got great views of the city and surrounding islands. The captain pointed out areas of interest with detailed educational information. He even brought our attention to some porpoises nearby, which was an added bonus. Definitely worth it on a nice day in the city.
