    Long wait but worth it

we waited for an hour to be seated outside with our pup but it was worth it. once seated we were waited on right away and with a bowl of water for my thirsty pup (especially after a long day hiking). the pop overs were delicious! my sister had the blueberry iced tea which was refreshing and I had the Jordan Pond House hot tea.

    Not Welcome

My last trip to Maine I ate here basically every day after hiking but we didn’t have our dogs with us. This time we have our two very friendly %26 well behaved Bernese Mountain Dogs. I was a little concerned about the bees outside but we said we’d try it out. I went to put our names on the waitlist and let the woman know we’d like outside and have our two dogs. It was about 3p. It was an hour wait which we figured as much… what I didn’t expect was for her to tell me that they reached their dog quota so we couldn’t eat there. I figured alright take out we are adaptable and have beach chairs and a table in the car… nope no take out. I was told there was a vending machine for soda though. Will never eat here again even if I come back without my dogs.

    Great spot

We had a lovely lunch. Pup was comfortable outside. Recommend arriving early because the wait time gets worse throughout the day.

    Dog friendly patio.

There is a large grassy patio in front of the restaurant that is dog friendly and gives a great view of Jordan Pond and the Bubbles. Our server was super dog friendly and brought our dogs their own water bowl. He also snuck them a complimentary popover, which they loved. We also enjoyed our food and post hike beer.

    Very Dog Friendly Outdoor Seating

We stopped here while walking around Jordon Pond because we had to try the popovers! We were able to get a table outside within 5 minutes of checking in. There are a ton of outdoor tables with umbrellas and a bowl of water for our fur baby! We loved the popovers, too!

    Friendly staff but unorganized restaurant

Outside patio and lawn are dog friendly but it takes a really long time to get a table no matter what time of day it is (we went twice since their popovers are so worth it). They need a new check in system however. With such a long wait they give you a pager but it has a very short range so you can't go anywhere anyway and most of the time the pagers don't even work. We went twice and both times the pager stopped working and we didn't know our table was ready. The popovers are incredible and the wait staff is so friendly and accommodating but getting to that point is not very pleasant.

    No Dogs After 5 PM

The first time we tried it we were told they do not allow dogs after 5 pm. We returned the following day for lunch and enjoyed our lunch/snack.

    Late lunch 7/31/18

The two of us brought Bowser to Jordon Pond House on Tuesday, 7/31 for a late lunch after hiking the Jordon Pond Path. It was nice having this to look forward to during our hike. We had to wait 10 minutes before we were seated at a wooden table under an umbrella on the lawn. Bowser had plenty of room to stretch out in the shady grass under the table. When we went, the lawn area was experiencing a good amount of yellow jacket bees, which the restaurant made clear to visitors via signage and a verbal reminder. The bees were only interested in our jam, for which the waitress brought a cover. We enjoyed our popovers with jam and butter, a cesar salad, and plenty of ice cold water. The atmosphere is gorgeous and the food hit the spot!

    Outside seating not always available

My husband and I went on a camping trip to Acadia with our dog in late September. We were excited about the description and reviews of this place and couldn't wait to go with our dog. We hiked around the Jordan Pond loop and finished at Jordan Pond House. I walked inside to ask about outside seating and the guy at the check-in desk was like "uhh.. yeah we don't have outside seating available currently but you can sit inside". I responded that we were with our dog and he says "yeah... he can't come in... but you can". It was September 30th and it was a beautiful 68 degree day with plenty of people sitting outside enjoying their own snacks. I asked if I could order and take my food outside and he just said "no, we don't do that". Pretty disappointed we didn't get to try the pop-overs and that nothing we read in advance indicated that they stopped doing outside seating at a certain point in the year. I'd recommend calling ahead and make sure they're doing outside seating if you're bringing your dog.

    It was just OK

We went at about 3:00 PM, so we only had the afternoon tea menu available. The food was ok, but the grass around the tables was worn to dirt, which made it dusty. Additionally, the food was ok, but way overpriced. Way! Service was slow. Bloody Mary was full of cracked pepper, so thick that you couldn't drink it. We'll pas on this place from now on.

    View is worth it!

After a long hike around the pond, my family and our chocolate lab were ready for some nourishment. It was crowded, but our wait wasn't too long. We ate outside on the lawn under patio umbrellas and water was brought to our pooch right away. The popovers were delicious and though our meal was a bit pricey, my family ate it all up so it must have been good. The view and the experience were well worth the visit!

    Delicious popovers

We waited about 50 minutes for lunch outside at the Pond House (I did not make a reservation and it was a Friday at 1:30 pm) but I have heard the wait in summer is ridiculous so unless you're going midweek and/or offseason reservations are a must. We sat on the lawn with a view of the pond and our Giant Schnauzer was welcome and pet by many. They brought him a cool bowl of water right away. I wasn't sure what all the popover fuss was about, but we added them to our lunch order and were not disappointed! Delicious with the strawberry jam. Overall it was a nice experience sitting outside with the pup and you can kill time exploring the "pond" while you wait to be seated. Only downside is no cover if the weather is chilly or damp and the food is overpriced but... It's something you have to try when in Acadia!

    Best Popovers

This is a very fun place to eat. The popovers melt in your mouth! They're served with fresh jam and butter. The soups are delicious too, as well as the blueberry lemonade. And...you can't beat the view of Acadia while you eat.
