Okay, inexpensive
La Quinta by Wyndham Knoxville Central PapermillThe room was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable but I personally don't care for the tile floors. Whenever my big dog walked around during the night, her nails clicking on the floor woke me. Pretty basic, nothing to complain or rave about. No additional pet fee.
Easy location next to I-75.
Best Western Plus Dalton InnRight next to I-75, but room was quiet. Hotel has a ground floor wing where they accommodate pets. Pet area did not have a bag dispenser, that's why I gave it 4 bones. Close to a college, so the nearby street had sidewalks and was well lit for dog walking. I would stay there again.
Great Fish Tacos
Siesta Key Oyster BarI stopped in for Happy Hour and an early dinner. Live music and lots of energy. Wait staff could not have been more welcoming. My German Shepherd is a big dog, and they gave us a great spot against a wall and out of the way. There was much more available seating than I first thought, There are some uncovered tables up front, but we were seated well inside the covered eating area. My server asked me twice if she could bring water for my dog. Food was terrific.
Treated my dog like a celebrity
Best Western Statesville InnBeth, the manager was amazing. My dog Hollis was treated like a princess. Our room had a ground floor door that opened to an enclosed hallway open to the outside. It was convenient and secure. The hotel is on a dead end road which was great for dog walking, with some lighting and large areas of undeveloped land along the road for potty breaks. Beth even packed us a doggie bag for the road, with treats for dog and human. Easy on and off the highway. Great stop on the drive South from Michigan.
