Wonderful find
Becky's on Hobson's WharfWe ate with a couple who’d tried to get in several years ago but it was too crowded. We got right in. The lobster roll was awesome. Breakfast any time but no eggs Benedict after 2:00. Lots of blueberries in the pancakes.
Awesome Breakfast
Biscuit HeadParking in back. The biscuits are “to die for” with lots of toppings but no apple butter. Service was amazingly fast.
Great Pies... Dog Friendly, Sort Of
Crane's Pie Pantry Restaurant & WineryGo for the pies... they are worth the trip. Don't plan on much else. The dining room and its full menu is not open to dogs. The patio is pleasant but the menu is limited to sandwiches.
We made a special trip after a long bike ride hoping to have a great meal followed by a fabulous pie for desert. We got the fabulous pie but I wish we'd stopped for lunch at one of the many restaurants we passed on the way.
Love this place
Mermaid Bar & GrillFood was fantastic. We both had “fresh fish “ - walleye - with simple sides. Our waitress, Faith, was friendly and attentive.
Great room
TownePlace Suites by Marriott LondonRoom was very spacious with mini kitchen. Breakfast was awful but we chalked it up to Covid lockdown protocols. We’ll book again when we return. Great staff.
Highlight of our trip
HawksHead RestaurantNot cheap but worth every penny. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Staff couldn’t be nicer, bringing Ghost a cake pan of iced water. Of Course the fact that the hostess has a white German Shepherd like ours didn’t influence our rating.
Better check first
Bluebird Restaurant & Bardrove over from Traverse City only to be told they were dog friendly BUT NOT TODAY. Something about dogs not being allowed where food is served and they were afraid the health inspector might show up. Count me an unhappy camper.
