We spent a wonderful weekend in Heathsville VA.

I’m always a little bit leery of motel rooms. However, this one had recently been remodeled and was very nice. In fact, it was the only room on our three week trip that had double vanities in the bathroom.

There was very little dog walk area. However, breakfast was wonderful.

Our visit was just ok. No designated dog walking area. Very dated.

This was a really good stay. Great room, great service and a good dog walk area. When we checked in, they gave us a sheet listing emergency vet, pet stores, dog friendly restaurants, etc. I want to share a tip that we use. I carry a large flat sheet with me and as soon as we get in the room, I spread it over the bed. Many of the hotels discourage your pet from getting on the furniture and especially the bed. Whenever we are away from home our dog always sleeps on the bed. By doing this, at least I feel better about not soiling the bed covers.

Since this is a Super 8, I was planning on being disappointed. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It was just fine.

This BW in Shelby MT was such a surprise. Even though the location is sub-par (there is nothing around it but train tracks) it is the only place where we’ve stayed (day 11 of our journey) that gave Levi a dog biscuit. But the best thing was the breakfast! It was delicious and the best we’ve had so far!

Very nice room and friendly staff.

Nice big room and pretty surroundings.

It was clean and very nice to be on the river, but definitely was showing its age.

We love it when our room has a back door to the dog walk area. Plus, the people were very friendly!

We ran into a few issues but they were resolved quickly.
