Davenport Landing, just north of the town of Davenport is a great off-leash dog friendly beach. Closed off rocky cliffs at both the north and south ends with an off highway parking lot it really is one of the better dog beaches in the Santa Cruz area. Also since is it neither a state park/beach, nor a city park you will never see park rangers, animal control or lifeguards here so no off leash tickets ever! Also this means occasionally there are fireworks and other large pyrotechnic displays in the evening so for skittish pups it may be better as a daytime play place. My pups love to romp around in the tide pools on low tides. And occasionally go swimming at the north corner of the beach if the surf isn't too big.

Davenport Beach in Davenport, CA is dog friendly. Leashed pets are welcome at Davenport Beach, one of a string of beaches clustered around the seaside town of Davenport. Visitors should park in a large gravel lot on the ocean side of Highway 1, near the intersection of Old Coast Road. The beach is accessed by several trails extending from the parking area.
