Russell Cave National Monument

Russell Cave National Monument is a pet-friendly historic site in Bridgeport, AL. Once home to prehistoric peoples, it functions today as an archaeological site and historic monument, containing the most complete record of prehistoric cultures in the southeastern United States. The surrounding grounds are home to a museum, bookstore, and nature trails. Prehistoric tools and weapons demonstrations are available, and a Native American Festival takes place annually at the park. Dogs are allowed in the park but must remain on a leash at all times, and owners must clean up after their pets. While visiting, they offer Fido the chance to join the Bark Ranger program. This program consists of learning what each letter in B.A.R.K. stands for and practicing these lessons during your visit. Visit Website

    Dog friendly and historical

Dog friendly park, they also have the B.A.R.K Ranger program. The rangers were very friendly. The cave is pretty cool. They had signs up that venomous snakes are frequently spotted on the nature trail so we gave that a skip.
