    Great Location

Great location as long as your dog is good with high walking traffic. We had fun walking up and down and some restaurants and stores are dog friendly so if you need to get out of the sun there are opportunities for that.

Delightful place to walk the dog

My dog and I walked up and down the Riverwalk since it was right near the hotel we were staying at. There were plenty of other dogs and people to greet and play with along the way. There are also plenty of restaurants one block over on Front St with patios for dining with pups.

Wonderful Place to Walk and Shop

We loved Riverwalk and all the shops, cafes, and things to see. There were water bowls for pups outside of many, many shops and even the tourist information center. The vibe was laid back, lots to see and stores to shop. We arrived at around 11AM on a Saturday and easily found paid parking right next to the boardwalk. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend to family and friends!

    Old and falling apart.

There was a lot of construction going on. The boardwalk is old and falling apart. The area is dirty with homeless people around. Parking is not so easy to find. Some parking meters are coins only, no credit card slot. Only saw one public bathroom. The pictures of the area on the website show a nice place but that is not the case in person.

    Vibrant place to walk around!

The actual boardwalk next to the river is very nice. The whole downtown area is very crowded with people, bars, restaurants, shops, and many dogs. Although it is a vibrant place to visit, make sure that Fido is ok with lots of people and noise, especially in the evenings with the rooftop bands. As in any crowded area, be aware of your surroundings for safety - we saw a few altercations going on with homeless people.

    Enjoyable walk

We had fun walking our dog along the riverwalk. Nice views and spaces here and there for potty breaks.

Great place to spend the evening

We ate at one of the restaurants , walked the boardwalk, saw an alligator. Watched the sunset with the USS North Carolina in the background. I would definitely recommend it.

    Scenic views

You can take 2 mile walk on the boardwalk. There is an ice cream stand on the boardwalk, their iceream was delicious. There is also dog friendly restaurant with large deck. But not every restaurant with deck is dog friendly. I saw 2 with big sign no dogs. Parking is $3.50/hour in the parking lot. There are no parks along the boardwalk.
