Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park

Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park in Pine Grove, CA is dog friendly. The park was founded in 1968 to preserve marbleized limestone with 1,185 mortar holes, and is hailed as the largest collection of bedrock mortars in North America. It's a great site to see, especially if you think geology rocks! The best part of this park is that Fido can join you on the paved roads, walkway, and in the campground at your campsite. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the other trails at the park. Your dog will have to cuddle up next to you in your tent or RV as they are not allowed to sleep outside. Indian Grinding Rock is open from sunrise to sunset every day of the week. Visit Website

    Off Limits

Most of this place seems off limits. Dogs are not allowed on the trails or in the museum. The docent would allow service dogs in the museum, but strongly guilted us about potential parasites that may damage the artifacts, but ultimately left it up to us. Water bowls were placed next to the water fountain near the parking lot. Solid three.
