Customers of Asbury Park Dog Beach are divided on their experience, with many praising the friendly atmosphere, clean beach, and opportunities for dogs to play off-leash during allowed hours, though numerous visitors express frustration with the restrictive daytime hours that limit beach access to early mornings and evenings during summer season. Some appreciate the amenities and welcoming community, while others feel the time restrictions undermine the purpose of having a designated dog beach and argue that the beach should be accessible throughout the day.
