While the Catherine B. Stillman dog park has 2 enclosures (small and large) there are no signs posted on them indicated weight limits or restrictions. This creates confusion and inconsiderate dog owners who put their large dogs inside the small enclosure. There should be some kind of sign on the fence of each area so that large-dog owners are more considerate of small/medium dogs.

Plenty of room for our two pups to run around. It was perfect on our way to South Padre from Austin. The two areas were large and had plenty of shade, the smaller dog area was set behind the larger so you had to walk around or through to get to it. Nice having a working water fountain too. Unfortunately, as with most dog parks people don’t clean up after their dog, so be careful when walking around. They were also out of bags but we always have our own.

There's a few acres of fenced in area to run. I can't throw a tennis ball from one fence to the other. The downside to a place this large is that it takes diligence to make sure that you pick up after your pet. While we were there, the gate between the small and large dog areas was open, making the whole run even bigger. Admittedly there is a not insignificant gap under the fence of the small dog park.
Also, there are outdoor kennels at the vet clinic next door, so you will be barked at by those dogs. This isn't really a detriment, just a curiosity.

Large high-fenced romping areas good for large and medium sized dogs. Water fountains. Benches for sitting but no shade.
Not good for toy breeds...there's a gap under the fence all around. No separate area for small dogs.
