Canoe & Trail Adventures is a pet-friendly water-based adventure company in Covington. For over 45 years, Canoe and Trail has guided thousands of people into Louisiana swamps and bayous surrounding New Orleans. They also offer "Twilight Paddle™and Moonlight Paddle™ series year round plus seasonal paddles and hikes around south Louisiana. Dogs are welcome to paddle and eat at Chimes, which is where the rentals depart from. If your dog weighs over 30 lbs, they recommend canoes over kayaks but you and your pooch are welcome to use either. Canoe & Trail Adventures is open Wednesday through Monday from 9am to 5pm. Hidden gem
So happy we found this outfitter while dining with our pup at Chimes. Super friendly, top notch customer service! Gear was nice, clean and well-maintained. Even provided a small waterproof storage bag for us to use FREE of charge. Rented the upgraded sit in individual kayaks with very comfy seating for a nominal fee. Was able to store a small cooler and still have adequate leg room (I’m only 5’1” FYI). Saw plenty of small sandy beach-like areas along the Bogue Falaya River which were perfect for swimming or letting your pup explore. Had an amazing time and plan on becoming frequent flyers. Please don’t forget to bring poop bags and a life vest for your pup. Also, be sure to pick up after your pup so pups will continue to be welcomed. 🐾
