Enjoy a day spent exploring the year-round hiking trails at dog-friendly Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids, IA. Fido is welcome on all trails but should be leashed or under voice control as you're likely to encounter horseback riders and cyclists during your visit. Whiterock Conservancy offers 40 miles of scenic trails which guide you through beautiful oak forests and across picturesque open prairies. The area is free to visitors but $2 donations are appreciated and can be left at most trailheads. Hikers will find routes to suit all activity levels; the adventurous outdoor enthusiasts can undertake the 9.7 mile Main Loop, and those casual pleasure-seekers can meander along the 1.2 mile White Oak trail. Dogs are permitted at designated campsites and select accommodations, but are not allowed at Hollyhock or Home Farm.
