Conecuh National Forest
Conecuh National Forest in Andalusia, AL is dog friendly. Bring Fido with you and explore this 83,000 acre forest near the Florida Panhandle. The most popular trail for hikers and backpackers is The Conecuh Trail which winds 20 miles through the eastern portion of the Conecuh National Forest. The trail is open year round but is best traversed when the weather is cooler to avoid the hot, humid summer temperatures and bothersome insects. The campground at Open Pond Recreation Area has primitive sites as well as water and electric hook-ups. This area is a great starting point if you plan to go cycling, hiking, fishing or boating.
