Papakōlea Beach
Papakōlea Green Sand Beach is a pet-friendly beach in Naalehu on the Island of Hawaiʻi. Papakōlea Green Sand Beach is one of the few places in the world with green sand thanks to the olivine crystals formed by lava. Leashed pups and their owners should leave early in the day to beat the heat on the moderate trail that leads to this incredible oddity. This hike is 5.6 miles out-and-back.
