Newer State Park in SD
We visited while staying in Sioux Falls during our road trip with 2 dogs in April. We looked into this park beforehand and read it was a new State Park in SD. The photos on their site showed lots of green grass and trees so we were excited to check it out. At this time of the year in SD, we knew it wasn't going to be in full bloom so didn't expect it as exactly as pictured. It was pretty dry and hot that day so we made sure to pack lots of water. There is a visitor center with exhibits/information set up and some reptiles showcased, along with restrooms. The trail we did had tree coverage and was mostly shaded. The trail went downhill, then we walked along the path next to river and then the uphill trek back to the top. There were several trails to use but most seemed to be in the sun and prairie/grasslands from what we could see.
