Maumee State Forest
The pet-friendly Maumee State Forest spans 3,332 acres across three Ohio counties, and is accessible from Swanton. Its features include a 2-mile Stewardship Trail, 66 miles of unmarked hiking paths, 8 miles each of bridle and APV trails, plus areas dedicated to tree improvement research and wet-sedge meadows. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed or under control at all times.
