Blackwater Heritage State Trail

The Blackwater Heritage State Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this dog-friendly "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Milton! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Blackwater Heritage State Trail. Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has generously provided map data for this trail to Bring Fido for informational purposes only. For more detailed trail information, please visit TrailLink.com. Nice easy walk

We took our pups after a morning at the beach. It is a nice rail trail, but we were hoping for a bit different scenery. If you plan on going, maybe google parking areas where to join the trail, we followed the directions straight from Rover and it took us to a random parking lot in town.

Great Place to Walk Yourself and Your Pooch

I grew up here and the trail is one of my favorite places to walk my dog whenever I'm in town. No complaints, just FYI: During the warmer months, be careful. My dog stands pretty low to the ground, so the amount of ticks I pulled off of my dog was a lot even with her flea/tick medicine.
