Four Seasons Adventure Trail
The Newport/Dover-Foxcroft Rail Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Newport! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Newport/Dover-Foxcroft Rail Trail. This trail is used too heavily by ATVs and snowmobiles to be very pleasant for dog walking. It is a pretty area around the lake, but be prepared to jump out of the way when the motorized vehicles blast through.
