Located along the Iowa River, this dog-friendly park spans 668 acres of towering white pines, rare ferns and sandstone outcroppings. You and Fido can explore the varied park together on the 2.6-mile paved trail or one of the trails that takes you through the trees.

Located at the east end of Riverview Park, Marshalltown Dog Park features 4.5 acres of grassy, off-leash fun in Marshalltown, IA. This fenced park offers a separate area for small dogs, a water spigot near the gate and lots of trees. There is a daily use fee per dog, or you can apply for an annual dog park membership through Parks & Recreation.

Dogs are welcome at Union Grove State Park in Gladbrook, IA. This pet-friendly destination is home to the 110-acre Union Grove Lake. One of the best features of this park are the wonderful trails. While you're trekking with your leashed pooch through the varied woodland and prairie, you may come across other visitors too, including deer, songbirds and waterfowl.
