The park is closed from December through March, and operations are weather-dependent in April and November.

A water spigot is located in the parking lot to provide water for the dogs. In the winter, the park is home to the Township’s temporary ice rink for skating.

Kittatinny Valley State Park is a pet-friendly recreation area in Andover, NJ. Sections of the Paulinskill Natural Trail and the Sussex Branch Trail, constructed atop two former railroads, can be accessed from the park. You might even see a musher and his dogsled team running down the trail. Unfortunately, pets are not permitted to stay overnight in any of the facilities.

Visit the dog-friendly Allamuchy Mountain State Park in Stanhope, NJ. There are several miles of trails to explore with your pooch along the Musconetcong River, with some of the best trout fishing in the state to boot.
