The Boca Grande Bike Path is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Placida! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Boca Grande Bike Path. Don Pedro Island State Park is a dog-friendly destination in Placida, FL. Located on 230 acres, this state park features a fishing dock, a kayak launch, a number of nature trails and a picnic shelter for you and Fido to enjoy. Bring your leashed pup for a walk on the scenic trails and a picnic, but note that dogs are not allowed on the beaches. There is a small entrance fee to visit.
