Dog Friendly Hiking Trails Near YXS Airport

Cottonwood Island Nature Park is pet-friendly. This trail system is open year-round. A 32-hectare park part of the Heritage River Trail System, connects a number of other parks along the Nechako and Fraser rivers. The trails wind along the Nechako River's shoreline. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trail, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them.

Heritage River Trail is pet-friendly. Enter this trail from Cottonwood Island Nature Park with your leashed pup. Along the way, you'll find a boat and canoe launch, benches for a picnic with your pup, seasonal washrooms and tree carvings. The trail system can be accessed every day of the week from 6am to 11pm.
