Dogs are welcome to visit on a leash.

The Weiser River National Recreation Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Weiser! Fido is welcome to join you at Keeney Pass Interpretive Site, a pet-friendly trail and attraction in Vale, OR. Named for pioneer trader Jonathan Keeney, it is located on the outskirts of Vale in Eastern Oregon. Located along the Malheur River, Vale was the first stop in Oregon for settlers on the Oregon Trail. Today, you can still walk along the original wagon ruts at Keeney Pass and reflect on the famous journey.
