The Virginia Blue Ridge Railway Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Fido is welcome to join you at the pet-friendly Appomattox Court House National Historical Park in Appomattox, VA. Enjoy a variety of hiking trails around the property or have a picnic with your furry friend. Please note that pets can't be left unattended and they aren't permitted in any buildings. Dogs must be cleaned up after and on a leash no longer than six feet.

Fido is welcome to join you at the dog-friendly Holliday Lake State Park in Appomattox, VA. Enjoy hiking the 6.7-mile loop trail around the lake or have lunch at one of the picnic shelters with your furry friend. The park also features playgrounds, camping, a snack bar and more. Please note that pets must be on a leash under six feet and you must bring proof of current rabies vaccination. Pets are not allowed in designated swimming areas or indoor public facilities and must be cleaned up after.
