Sequoia Bayview Trail is known for its beautiful wildflowers, views of San Francisco and the occasional redwood. Hikers can extend the three mile journey with one of the many connected trails in Joaquin Miller Park and Redwood Regional Park.

Joaquin Miller Park Trail is a pet-friendly path located inside Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, CA. Fido is welcome to join you as you meander through the trails of redwoods and oaks, but dogs must remain on a leash. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife such as scrub jays, Cooper's hawks, wild turkeys, California quail, gopher snakes, gray fox and deer. Joaquin Miller Park also has an off-leash dog park.

The Shepherd Canyon Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Oakland! The map below shows a trailhead where you can pick up the Shepherd Canyon Trail.
