Bring Fido to explore the dog-friendly Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park in Paterson, NJ. The centerpiece of this 89-acre natural historic area is the 77-foot waterfall that gushes over the rocks. You and your pooch can jump on the trail and join the crowds enjoying the views of the natural landmark. Dogs are not allowed to join their owners inside the buildings on the property. All pets must be on a leash under six feet for the duration of their visit and all mess should be cleaned up after them.

The West Essex Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
