Signal Hill National Historic Site is pet-friendly. This St. John's landmark is a great place for a hike with your pooch. See the first sunrise in North America at the dog-friendly Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site in St. John's, NL. Situated on Canada’s easternmost point on a rugged cliff, the oldest surviving lighthouse in the region was constructed back in 1836. The trail is a 2.6 mile out and back trail which experiences moderate foot traffic. Fido is welcome to join you on the trail but must remain on a leash due to wildlife in this area. Tablelands Trail is suitable for all skill levels.

French Beach Trail is a dog-friendly unpaved trail which leads to French Beach, located in Twillingsgate, NL. Fido is welcome to accompany you on your hike over rugged terrain showcasing spectacular costal views. Once you reach French Beach, you can retrace your steps on the return journey, or venture around the headland to scenic Spillers Cove. A hike to the farthest point, Spillers Cove, and making a full loop to the parking lot should take approximately 1.5 - 2.5 hours.

King's Cove Lighthouse Trail is a dog-friendly trail located near King's Cove, NL. Fido is welcome to accompany you on this moderately trafficked 2.3 mile loop which leads to King's Cove Lighthouse. Admire spectacular coastal scenery while hiking, running, or bird watching. The trail is best used from May until November. The first and last part of the trail will lead you through Paddy Murphy’s Meadow, famous for an abundance of colorful wildflowers which bloom in late spring.

J.T. Cheeseman Provincial Park is pet-friendly. This popular natural area is an awesome place to explore with your pooch. Located just fifteen minutes from the ferry port, this dog-friendly beach has great views and a few rustic trails to wander with your pooch. There are nine fitness trails in total, including 2km of windswept pathway known for its natural beauty. Access to the park is limited to the hours of 7:00am to 11:30pm.
