Woof-O-Ween

Moonracer No Kill Animal Rescue presents a howling good time for the whole family with Woof-O-Ween on Oct. 26. The fun begins with a scrumptious waffle breakfast served at Jeanne’s Bistro and Coffee, 417 12th St. W., Bradenton. The celebration includes a variety of activities: • Carnival games. • Face-painting. • Nail trimming for dogs by Peggy Duffy. • Fall-themed pet photos. • Entertainment by musical talent David Smash. • A bake sale featuring gourmet ice pops for people and dogs by Karma Pops. The waffle breakfast features a choice of seasonal aromatic pumpkin spice, decadent butter pecan, rich Southern red velvet and traditional buttery Belgian waffles. Included for a $10 donation: two waffles, choice of bacon or sausage, fruit, juice and coffee or tea. The breakfast price for children under 8 is $5, and they will receive a smaller portion size. Dining with pets will be allowed on the outside patio. Please have dogs leashed using a standard lead, as retractable leashes can cause hazards for others. Dining will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The event also will feature raffles of arranged and themed gift baskets — many will include gift certificates from local merchants and one lucky winner will receive a weekend stay at The Naples Hilton. A second will have a chance to win a weekend stay at a Disney World Resort. Also, the event will offer an opportunity to win a cash prize in a 50/50 drawing. Drawings will be held at the conclusion of the day and winners do not need to be present. Woof-O-Ween will conclude with a costumed pet parade. Prizes will be awarded for funniest, scariest, most original, most environmentally friendly, cutest and looks most like their owner. One grand prize-winner will be awarded by a panel of judges.
