Chester's Walk - Canine's for a Cure

Join the Long Island Chapter in our first annual dog walk, Canines for a Cure, on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Belmont Lake State Park in Babylon. Canines for a Cure is a 1 mile, morning walk, where you and your four legged best friend can band together in the fight against leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma. We are pleased to announce our 2009 Honorary Walk Chair is Bethenny Frankel! Bethenny, a Celebrity Natural Food Chef and star of "The Real Housewives of New York City," is also a New York Times Best Selling Author, with her book "Naturally Thin: Unleash Your Skinnygirl and Free Yourself from a Lifestime of Dieting." Participants will be able to purchase a copy of "Naturally Thin" and have it autographed by Bethenny, with all proceeds benefiting LLS. Check in: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Walk will begin promptly at 10:15 a.m. RAIN OR SHINE! In addition, be a part of our Canine Contests, such as, Owner/Dog Look-Alike Contest, Biggest Lap Dog, and Doggies Got Talent. The first 100 pups to register will recieve an official LLS Doggy Bag! All participants that raise $100 or more will receive an official Canines for a Cure T-Shirt (please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery) and prizes are available for our top three fundraisers (minimum fundraising amount of $1,000).
