This Sunday, May 3, 2009, thousands of people, pets, vendors, entertainers, and the NYC dog community with come together in Riverside Park, Manhattan to celebrate the 18th Annual Dogswalk Against Cancer! Dogswalk Against Cancer is a well-known event that has built upon its 18-year tradition to create a loyal following among pet lovers and enthusiasts who support the causes of the American Cancer Society. Dogswalk Against Cancer, the premier pet-centric charity event in New York City, is an exciting and fun walk-a-thon and festival that raises money for the fight against human and animal cancers. The event presents a rare and rewarding opportunity to help people and animals alike! Dogswalk fundraising efforts benefit the lifesaving programs of the American Cancer Society as well as the Donaldson/Atwood Cancer Clinic at the Animal Medical Center. Each year, the Animal Medical Center’s Donaldson-Atwood Cancer Clinic treats more than 3,000 pets diagnosed with cancer, using a full range of life-saving oncology therapy options.
