This dog friendly event will be held from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM on October 3, 2026 at Depot Park in Galena, IL. Sponsored by Galena Lions Club. Admission to the festival is $10 per person, and dog registration is free in advance or $5 per dog on site.

Description
As part of the Annual Galena Oktoberfest, the crowd favorite Wiener Dog Races begin with registration at 11 AM. The race will feature different divisions based on age. Each heat winner advances to the semi-finals, and winners compete in the championship race for best-of-day honors in their division. Every Dachshund needs a handler to release and another to receive, with volunteers available if needed.
