Governor Henry McMaster has officially proclaimed the 7th Annual South Carolina Week for the Animals October 21-29, 2017! Throughout the week, educational institutions, animal shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting scores of exciting animal-related special events. Events will include Halloween adoption fairs, VegFest along with pet adoptions, Bark in the Park, Saltwater Sounds by Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Trick or Trot fundraiser for the horses, Barkaritaville, FurBall Moonlight Gala, Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch & adoptions, Growl at the Moon, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, DOGtoberfest inc Blessing of the Animals, Howl-o-Ween with multiple rescue groups, Cotton Branch Animal Sanctuary's Queen City Fall Fest, special adoption and spotlight on Equine Rescue of Aiken Saratoga Warhorse program for the soldiers through horse therapy, ways to help marine animals, horse tack sale benefits for equine, special animal shelter reduced adoption fees, therapy dogs visiting children's hospitals and living-assisted homes.
