Paws in the Park

Happy Valley announces an exciting new community event - and it’s one that includes our furry canine friends! On Saturday, May 21st, the first annual “Paws in the Park” dog day event will take place at Happy Valley Park, 13770 SE Ridgecrest Road, Happy Valley, OR. All dog lovers and owners are welcome to attend. Polite, socially-adapted dogs on a leash are also welcome. Designed to promote responsible pet ownership, educational opportunities and entertainment, this event will feature pet activities, demonstrations and vendor displays. Visitors and their pets can take part in a costumed pet parade and agility games, have their picture taken or update their pet’s rabies vaccinations and I.D. chipping, just to name a few of the planned activities. Or, it might just be the day you’ll find your new best friend through a rescue or adoption agency! Scheduled participants and vendors include the Oregon Humane Society, The Hannah Society, FIDO Clackamas County, Dove Lewis, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Multnomah Search and Rescue, K9 unit demonstrations, Truffle Dog demonstrations, Sunnyside Vet Clinic, Pet Pro’s, Second Nature, Pawsitive Pastries, Dog Gone Chic, Wash N Roll Mobile Grooming, X-Fidos Flyball, Ceramic Café and Ben & Jerry’s. For food, fun and a tail wagging good time, come to Happy Valley Park from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, May 21st. All donations accepted at this event will go to participating Rescue and Adoption agencies.
