Pints for Pups

The best beer tasting event in Berks County returns to FirstEnergy Stadium Saturday, July 16th! That's right, we're talking about the 6th Annual Pints for Pups Beer Tasting! More than 60 bottled and draft beers, wine and food await! Last year's Pints for Pups was an amazing success, attracting 650 beer and animal loversand raising over $36,000 for the animals and programs of the Humane Society of Berks County. In 2011, we've made some slight changes to the event to make it even more fun. First, we've moved from the third base line to the newly renovated first base concourse, which provides our brewers and our Pinters with a lot more elbow room. We've also changed the benefits for our VIP Pinters. Instead of simply roping off an area, VIPs and sponsors get in a whole hour before everyone else for exclusive tasting opportunities and the chance to talk hops with the brewers. Finally, 2011 is the first year in which we are offering a discounted ticket for designated drivers. In recognition of those who take one for the team and make sure everyone gets home safely, those tickets are half-price (you still get the glass!) And to help make sure everyone stays safe, this year will be a tasting-only event (trust us, there's so many different beers you'll only get to half of them anyway.) A couple of things haven't changed: well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome at Pints for Pups, but unfortunately children are not. Pints is strictly a 21+ event (even for designated drivers.) Spike's Doggie Bar will be back with special treats and beverages just for the pooches, courtesy of Godfrey's Welcome to Dogdom. And of course it wouldn't be Pints without the music: the Dance Hall Docs are taking the brand-new stage from 6-9PM playing old and new favorites. Look for brand-new Spike and Tilly art by Adrienne Trafford on our complimentary Pints glass, and beers from (of course) Sly Fox, Avery, Flying Dog, Founders and many more. Belgians to bocks, porters to pilsners, if you can't find a new favorite then you probably don't like beer. And just in case you actually don't like beer, we'll also be serving wine and soda, and our friends from Raw Can Roll will be on hand making smoothies!
