This annual dog friendly event will be held from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM on October 23, 2011 at Pasadena Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Sponsored by Natural Balance, PETCO, Runners World, and Longo Toyota. Admission is open to the public with dog contest/race entries from $10-$37 and benefits 10 non-profit, no-kill animal welfare organizations.

Description
Race For The Rescues is a 5K, 10K run/walk & kid's fun run to raise funds for 10 non-profit, 501(c)3, rescue groups: After The Finish Line, A Dog's Life Rescue, Best Friends Animal Society, Four Legged Friends Foundation, Molly’s Mutts and Meows, The Ozzy Foundation, Pets for Vets, Stray Cat Alliance, Take Me Home Rescue & The Rescue Train. Each year these 10 rescue groups save and find loving homes for approximately 2,500 dogs and cats who were facing euthanasia. They are solely run on tax-deductible donations. On that same day we will be holding dog and cat adoptions for: LA Animal Services Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. Fun activities for all ages of animal lovers! Including celebrity hosts, prizes and awards for top Racers and Fundraisers, huge silent auction, 'Rockin' Adoption Show', Best Pet Trick and Best Pet Costume Contest, face painting, Kid's Hip Hop Dance Class, 'Dancing With The Dogs Exhibition', unique pet products and MORE! Come on out and Run, Walk, Shop or Adopt to help save the life of a homeless dog or cat.
