Woosterfest Wiener Dog Race & Costume Contest

Mark your calendars for Woosterfest Wiener Dog Race & Costume Contest! This dog-friendly event will be held from 12:00 PM-1:30 PM on October 3, 2026 at Downtown in Wooster, OH. Sponsored by Cleveland Road Animal Hospital. Admission is $20 per dog. Visit Website

Description

This popular portion of the annual Woosterfest celebration takes place on the festival’s Saturday schedule. Dachshund enthusiasts are invited to bring their speedy pups to dash through downtown Wooster’s streets in age-based heats, “Little Smokies” through “Knockwursts.” Beyond racing, participants show off their pups’ flair with a costume contest, with prizes for both speed and style! All dogs must be leashed before and after their sprint, comfortable in a group setting, and under handler control at all times.
