Description
Each January 8th, Hermitage welcomes visitors free of charge to honor the Battle of New Orleans, the decisive 1815 victory that elevated Andrew Jackson to national fame. The day includes a wreath-laying ceremony at Jackson’s tomb, a keynote address, and access to the estate’s 1,120 acres of history. Leashed dogs are welcome to roam the historic grounds. Dogs aren't permitted in any buildings, including The Hermitage Mansion or Andrew Jackson Center. Please bring bags to dispose of waste.
