Description
Pit Bull Gear presents the 6th annual Pit Bull Awareness Day featuring a Fun Show, Weight Pull, Hang-Time, CGC Testing and much more!! There will be Adoptable Dogs on hand as well as Vendors, Food and Drinks, plus lots of giveaways throughout the day. Lots of fun for the whole family! Come on out on Saturday Oct. 27, 2012 at the Florida State Fairgrounds: 4800 US HWY. 301 North, Tampa, FL, 33610.
Admission is Kids 12 & under FREE, over 12 yrs. old $5 per person & $5 per dog. This is a very large open outdoor space, you can bring your own set-up (tent, table, chairs, dog crates, etc.) for no additional charge. Half of the proceeds at the door will go directly to Tampa Bay Bullies.
Gates open at 9am, Registration for events start at 9am.
Weight Pull & Hang Time will start around 10:30 am.
Fun Show will start at 12:00 under Dome #2.
(dogs do not have to be registered to participate in Weight Pull, Hang Time or Fun Show).

Open Weight Pull $5 to enter (gets you 3 tries to advance)
Trophy for Most Weight Pulled and Most Weight Pulled "Pound for Pound"
HANG TIME:
Rules:
$5 to enter (gets you 3 tries to qualify)
All dogs must be at least 1 year old. (Any breed can enter)
All 4 feet must be off the ground at least 1ft
Dog must remain moving while on the spring pole
Handlers can verbally or physically encourage dogs to move if they stop
Judge keeps the official time and makes sure they stay moving
The dog who hangs the longest wins.
Rounds:
1st round - 1 minute (to qualify) up to 3 tries.
2nd round - 3 minutes (to move on to the finals)
3rd round - longest time hanging (Gets Trophy)
Equipment:
Hang Time Pole
Flat Collar
Loose Leash 6 ft. or longer
GENERAL RULES FOR THE EVENT:
All dogs must have on a leash and collar at all times
No dog shall be left unattended at anytime
No female dogs that are in heat!
All dog owners will be responsible for their dogs. No aggressive dogs will be tolerated.
Dogs deemed aggressive will be asked to leave
No baiting or stand offs will be tolerated
Please clean up behind your dogs. Anyone caught not cleaning up after your dog will be asked to leave.
Participant's behavior should be positive and uphold the respect of themselves and the breed that we are representing.
