As part of the annual Oktoberfest at The Wharf festival, the crowd favorite Wiener dog races will be hosted by Tommy McFly. Prizes are awarded to the speediest dogs. All breeds are welcome to watch, but only Dachshunds can participate in the race. There will also be an Adoptable Dog Parade between the Dachshund races.

Dogs must be friendly, sociable, and current on vaccinations, and owners are asked to clean up after their pets. The race is disposable cup–free, with runners receiving a SpeedCup or using their own hydration. Proceeds support park improvements and educational programming, with potential swag for both humans and pups.

This fun-filled mile beach walk benefits the MMSC, New Jersey’s only authorized rescue, rehab, and release facility for marine mammals and sea turtles. Enjoy a scenic stroll with your dog, meet mascot “Luseal,” shop pet-friendly vendors, listen to lively music, and take home a goodie bag with treats, including a Cupid the Seal bandana! Check-in starts at 9 AM and the walk starts at 10 AM.

The 5K Run is a competitive race and there's a 3K run/walk option for dogs (K9 race) where dogs must be leashed. Participants will run or walk through Harborview Park and along parts of the Coast Guard Training Center Cape May.
