Dog Events in New Bern, NC

This dog-friendly fall celebration features live music, local vendors, seasonal drinks and plenty of autumn fun. Leashed dogs are welcome inside and outside.

This dog-friendly event features a 5K race and a 1-mile dog walk, followed by an award ceremony and dog costume parade. Following the 5K there will be a dog costume parade! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be given to the best dressed pups!

Show off your pup at this event and meet other pet parents who share the same interest. There will be food trucks, games, raffles, contests and vendors.

Well-behaved pets are welcome to join their owners at this annual event, featuring pup photos, a pet blessing, adoptable dogs, local vendors, dog yoga and much more. Fido can even participate in a pet trick contest or costume contest!

Celebrate Oktoberfest with Fido at this Bavarian-inspired festival featuring craft beer, live music, food trucks, games and festive competitions. Guests can enjoy activities such as a keg toss, bag toss, stein hoist, and axe throwing while sampling food from a variety of local vendors. Gift cards are awarded to competition winners, and some contests are limited to participants 21 and older.

This dog-friendly fundraiser features a 5K and an untimed 1-mile fun run through the scenic trails of Hammocks Beach State Park. Participants can enjoy quality time and exercise with their pups while supporting Misplaced Mutts, including its efforts to help dogs find forever homes and fund a spay, neuter and wellness clinic. All participants receive a T-shirt, and 5K registrants also receive a participation medal.

Bring your pup for two laid-back afternoons of cold brews, good company and puppy love! Enjoy drinks while supporting a great cause: $1 per beer benefits a local pet rescue organization. A perfect way to relax, socialize and celebrate furry friends!

This dog-friendly 1-mile walk and 5K supports Canines for Service and its mission to provide service dogs to Veterans. Held in celebration of World Mental Health Day, the event welcomes runners, walkers and leashed dogs for an afternoon of community, wellness and support for Veterans.

A celebration of flight and beer, OBX Brewtag contestants will be competing to see who can launch and fly an empty 1/6 keg barrel the furthest. Dogs must be leashed and picked up after. A crafty selection of local and regional beer and food will be available for purchase that day.

Bring your adorable Dachshunds (and non-Dachshund friends!) to dash for glory in a morning packed with fun, from races and costume parades to meet-and-greets and awards. Registration starts at 10:0 AM, with races beginning at 11:00 AM. Don’t forget to dress your pup in festive attire; lederhosen and hotdog costumes encouraged!

Bring Fido along to see a light display like no other. This event features large 19-to-30 foot kites decked out in the spirit of the holiday season! At 5:00 PM, enjoy the lighting of the Jockey’s Ridge State Park Solar Christmas tree out on the dunes directly across from Jockey’s Ridge Crossing.
