Participants will walk, jog or run along the scenic, hilly course that winds through the 230-acre property, offering glimpses of retired research chimpanzees in their forested habitats. This event provides a rare opportunity to visit the sanctuary, which is not typically open to the public, while supporting the care of over 80 rescued chimps. Along the way, attendees can enjoy interactive educational stations, learn about chimp conservation, and take part in fun, family-friendly activities. The race is designed to be inclusive for all fitness levels, with no pressure to complete it within a set time. Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt, and participants are encouraged to fundraise to further support Project Chimps' mission. The event is rain or shine.

Celebrate the traditions of the Oktoberfest in the heart of Music City spanning 10 city blocks! There will be delicious German foods from dozens of restaurants and vendors, world-class beer from local breweries, tons of events, arts and crafts vendors, stages of live German music, the Annual Pup Parade on Saturday, and the Dachshund Derby on Sunday. All animals must comply with city leash laws. Please be aware that almost 150,000 people attend this event, so the streets will be very crowded and busy.

This annual event pits adorable Dachshunds competing to the finish line down a 50' track. Winning Wieners in each racing category are awarded a Coveted Dachshund Derby medal. All racers need to be a Dachshund or Dachshund mix to enter, but all breeds are welcome at the Nashville Oktoberfest.

Traditional leashes and canicross setups are welcome, but please note flexi-leashes or face collars are not permitted. Fido can join the 4-mile dog-friendly race, or watch from the sidelines as the regular 4-mile race begins 30 minutes later.

This annual fall celebration invites costumed canines to enjoy festive photo opportunities, vendors, entertainment and costume contests held twice daily at 11 AM and 2 PM, with prizes awarded for Best Kid & Canine Combo, Adult & Dog Duo, Best Founding Paw-ther and Top Dog. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times and aren't permitted inside any buildings. Dog owners should bring a bowl for their pup, with water refill stations available around the property.

Leashed dogs are welcome on this picturesque, 3.1-mile race that brings you through two states and has a beautiful backdrop of the Toccoa River. The race will begin at McCaysville Visitor Center and end at McCaysville City Park. The event is rain or shine.

The Arthritis Foundation’s race is the original festive race for charity with your pup. It’s where you can strut your stuff in your favorite holiday costume. Bring a team of friends, family, and co-workers to run or walk. Please ensure your dog is kept on a leash. Check-in starts at 8 AM and the race begins at 9 AM.

Hosted by the Humane Educational Society, attendees are invited to bring their leashed dogs to socialize while supporting HES. Oddstory will donate $1 to HES for every pint sold during the event. Guests will find adoptable pups and information on fostering and volunteering. Please note that is a 21+ establishment.
